Jewelweed

Impatiens capensis

Same hollow as the poison ivy, on purpose. Smash and swab as soon as you itch.

Part used
Juicy stems, same day you meet the ivy
Gather
Wet shade, creek edges, July–September. Orange spotted snapdragons, exploding seed pods.
Tea
Tincture
Other
Mash a handful, paint the juice on, let dry, repeat. A strong tea in a spray bottle keeps a day in the icebox.

It soothes; it does not make you immune. Wash with soap first. Not a drink.
