Mullein flower ear oil
Yellow flowers in olive oil, sun-steeped. Only for a closed, intact eardrum.
2 weeks in a sunny window · A few ounces
- Fill a small jar with fresh mullein flowers (no green spike). Cover with olive oil.
- Lid loose or cloth cover. Sunny window 2 weeks. Water in the flowers can sour it — if you see bubbles or a rotten smell, start over with wilted flowers.
- Strain through cloth. Bottle. Optional: a clove of garlic in the oil the last 2 days, then strain well.
- Dose
- 3–4 drops, body-warm (vial in your pocket), in the aching ear. Cotton loose at the opening. Twice a day.
- Store
- Cool dark, a year. Toss if it smells off.
Never oil a draining, bloody, or post-trauma ear. If they are dizzy, feverish, or the bone behind the ear is sore, that is not an oil problem — see Illness.
