honey

Thyme (or garlic) honey

Herb steeped in honey. Spoon for a cough, or into hot water for a sore throat.

Overnight, better in a week · 1 cup

  1. Loosely fill a half-pint with chopped fresh thyme, or 4–5 crushed garlic cloves (wait 10 minutes after crushing).
  2. Cover with raw honey. Stir out air pockets. Lid.
  3. A day on the counter, then a cool shelf. Garlic honey may fizz a little — burp the lid. Use within a month, or fridge.
Dose
1 tsp as needed for an adult cough. Child over 1: 1/2 tsp. In a mug of hot water for a throat.
Store
Cool. Garlic honey is the shorter keeper.

No honey under age one. Garlic honey is strong — not a jar you give by the tablespoon for fun.
