Overlapping fan shelves, orange on top, sulfur-yellow beneath, no gills (tiny pores). Grows on trunks and stumps, not from soil.

Avoid specimens on conifers or locust. Some people get GI upset — cook well, eat a tablespoon the first time, wait a day.
