Catnip

Nepeta cataria

The gentle rest tea. Useful for a fussy feverish child when you want them to sleep, not for a high fever itself.

Part used: Leaf and flowering tops
Gather: Naturalized around old barns and gardens. Gray-green, mint-smelling, white lipped flowers.
Tea: 1 tsp dried, covered 10 minutes. Mild. Honey if they are over one year.
Tincture: Fresh 1:2. A few drops in tea.
Other

Cats will flatten a patch. Cage it or grow extra. Not a sedative to stack with strong drink.
